This collectible figure is based on my original character design Ultra Lotus. The pose captures a dynamic battle stance inspired by the Bong Sau technique from traditional Chinese Wing Chun martial arts, reflecting the character’s roots in Eastern strength and discipline.

Standing approximately 38 cm tall, the model was sculpted using Blender and ZBrush, and produced via high-precision red wax 3D printing. It features a built-in LED lighting system with magnetic activation, giving the piece both visual impact and functional elegance.

Production Process

After receiving the 3D-printed figure, I began by performing surface correction using Tamiya epoxy putty, carefully filling gaps and sanding to refine the form. With the finalized 3D render of Ultra Lotus as a reference, I planned the painting workflow accordingly.

The process started with applying a water-based primer to enhance paint adhesion and reveal any remaining surface imperfections. I then airbrushed a base coat of light blue. Once dry, the light blue areas were masked, and a black undercoat was applied as a foundation for the metallic layer. Over the black, I sprayed a coat of metallic silver to give the armor a realistic finish. Finally, the metallic areas were masked, and I applied layers of transparent deep blue and violet to achieve a rich, luminous gradient effect.
